Phil Holland, Owner/President

Phil Holland has more than 40 years of experience in the computer industry. He began his career as a Computer Technician on the Polaris Submarine working on Inertial Navigation. Phil has since put his engineering training to use in many different ways. His background includes his role as Field Engineer for Link Aviation, building, delivering and commissioning Commercial Aircraft Simulators. He was also a Field Engineer for MSI Data Corporation where he maintained early POS and Retail Order Entry Systems.

Moving from engineering to management, Phil became the Regional Field Engineer Manager for MSI Data Corporation where he managed the Western US and Canada region. He would eventually become the National Field Engineering Manager for Azur Data.

In 1981, as the office computer industry began its march away from mainframes, Phil established EOS Services to fill the need for cabling services in the emerging LAN technology. His firm was one of the first Low Voltage cabling contractors in the US.

Phil established his second Low Voltage Corporation in 1985. His firm C.I.S., Inc. focuses on the western region from its headquarters in Reno, Nev.

 

Linda Beltran, Business Development Manager

As a Montana transplant with a background in procurement, sales, and construction project management, Linda works closely with the sales engineering staff to provide business opportunities to both the Reno & Las Vegas offices as CIS’s Business Development Manager. In addition to business development, Linda manages CIS’s relationship with the industry community through trade show representation as well as the greater community by providing support at special events and functions that CIS has been involved with over the years.

Linda holds a diploma in graphic design & facility operations. She is a member of the NNEWGA & E-Women and enjoys golfing, quilting, & travel.

 

Laura Clift, Chief Financial Officer

On a day to day basis, Laura performs the duties of the Director of Administrations. She oversees and actively participates in all aspects of administration, including operations, accounting and human resources.

In 1989, Laura began her first stint at CIS as an Administrative Assistant and Accounting Clerk.  She left CIS in 1995 to pursue an opportunity as the Office Manager and Human Resources Representative for Scholastic Book Fair’s Northern California office.  She returned to CIS in 1998 when the corporate office was opened in Reno.

Laura earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Vista College in Berkeley, Ca. in 1994.  And after taking courses in computers and accounting at the University of Nevada, Laura finished up her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management at the University of Phoenix in the Spring of 2005. 

Aside from travel, Laura’s interests include volunteering for American Brittany (dog) Rescue and being an active member and officer of the Reno Gem and Mineral Society.

 

Michael Cutkosky, Sales Engineer

Mike Cutkosky, RCDD is a Sales Engineer in the Reno area for CIS, handling companies like Bally Technology, VA Medical Hospital, Henry Schein and other key accounts.

Mike attended Golden West and Orange Coast Colleges in Southern California studying Electronics and Business Administration. He attended eighteen months of Navy Electronics “A” and “C” Schools and served 6 years, 4 tours to Vietnam, and was honorably discharged. Mike earned a Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation from The Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI).

As a Sales Engineer Mike offers over twenty years of experience in the voice/data/video/audio industry.

 

John Franklin, Reno Project Manager

John Franklin, Reno Project Manager for CIS, Inc., has 12 collective years of experience in telecom sales and cabling, including private branch exchange (pbx) sales, carrier service and installation.  He has also owned his own cabling and pbx sales business here in Reno for more than two years.

John is certified on many phone systems including Belden, ICC cabling products, ESI, InterTel, Avaya Partner and IP Office, and NEC DSX.

John also has 15 years of experience in retail, including more than 10 years managing up to 300 employees.

 

Mike Kelly, RCDD, Operations Manager

Mike brings more than 13 years of cabling experience to CIS. He holds a certification in RCDD and has completed the University of Nevada, Reno’s Project Management Program. As the Operations Manager for CIS, Mike Kelly oversees lead technicians, schedules jobs and orders materials. In addition to these responsibilities, Mike provides a high level of customer service to all clients. Mike has been with CIS for over seven years.

 

Thomas Shedd, Southern Nevada General Manager

Functioning as the Southern Nevada General Manager for CIS, Thomas brings 20 years of experience in the communication industry to our clients. He has been involved in world-wide telecom and point of sales equipment installations, maintenance service, and task training for multiple large affiliated companies as well as government entities.

Thomas served in the US Air Force for 9 years and was awarded both the Korean & Philippine humanitarian ribbons. During his enlistment he served in Desert Storm building secure circuitry for elaborate communication systems.

Mr. Shedd prides himself and CIS with a strong customer service ethic and a thorough attention to detail. Mr. Shedd is able to handle a wide array of projects.

 

Andy Turman, Sales Engineer

A graduate in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, Andy began working for CIS in December, 2006. He was hired as a Technician’s Assistant for the new Phone System Project at the University of Nevada. Within 3 weeks, he was promoted to Project Assistant Manager and helped CIS complete the multi-million dollar project on-time and under-budget. Now a Sales Engineer, Andy is an invaluable member of the CIS team.
